Easy Yogurt Fruit Dip

I made up this fruit dip awhile back and it is definitely our favorite. It is easy to make although a little time consuming if you want a nice thick texture. If you plan to just serve fruit in bowls, you can skip the straining step and just add a dollop of the combined ingredients on top of the fruit then eat the fruit with a fork.

Ingredients:

  • 1 32-ounce container of vanilla yogurt
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg

Instructions:

Line a strainer with paper towels (or cheesecloth if you have it but I never do) and place the strainer over a bowl.

Dump in the yogurt.

Put it in the fridge (shoving everything else to the back like I apparently did).

Check on it in an hour or so to see if you need to dump out some liquid. This isn't necessary if you have more clearance between your strainer and your bowl. If it is getting close, dump the liquid down the sink and put the setup back in the fridge if you want it to get even thicker.

Check on it in another hour and dump the liquid again. Depending on how thick your paper towels are and how much liquid was able to pass through, your yogurt may be thick enough now.

If it is thick enough, after pouring out the liquid, dump the yogurt into your bowl.

See, nice and thick (that's a fork).

Add the honey, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Mix it all up and enjoy your yummy fruit dip . . . .

Or put it back in the original container and save it in the fridge to serve later.

Yum!!
