Lately it feels like every time I get some momentum going with my crafting and subsequent blogging, something comes up. I guess that's just life. Right now the problem is a very sick little boy. It started out with a neck strain on Monday morning then after 2 days of lying flat on his back recovering from that, he started to vomit, a lot. Fearing the neck thing and the vomit weren't unrelated, we headed off to Urgent Care Tuesday night only to be referred to the ER for HOURS of testing for meningitis and heaven only knows what else. We rolled home at close to 1am on Wednesday morning with a healthy little boy who just so happened couldn't hold his own head up and couldn't keep any food down.

Around here, when the little guy gets sick, we make a nest with the couches, blankets and pillows. This is how we've been living this week:

Someone didn't appreciate the camera being out though:

And now for my BIG excuse for why I fell off the face of blogland from late April until just recently:

I'm pregnant!! Today I start my 2nd trimester (so this picture is actually a few weeks old but they didn't do an ultrasound at my checkup yesterday so I didn't get a new pic). The first trimester sucked all the energy out of me so I was taking naps with O every day instead of staying up to get things done like I used to. I'm starting to have vaguely energetic days though so hopefully before too long I'll be back to crafting and blogging more regularly.

Hey, if nothing else, I've got a nursery to design!!!

Thank you for reading,

  1. YAY!!!!! I'm so excited!!! :)

  2. Congrats! Are you finding out boy or girl beforehand?

  3. Thank you. Absolutely on the gender. I'm a planner, I can't handle that kind of unknown. :)

Yay! Congrats!  We are definitely in the same boat!

  5. I thought so, I'm due December 22. I was so excited when you made your announcement the other day. It's good to have a blog-buddy in the same boat.
